After playing 6 games in 11 days in the PVL Reinforced Conference, BaliPure coach Roger Gorayeb said his team can now enjoy much-needed rest.
By rest, it doesn’t mean the Water Defenders are going to just relax and let the Power Smashers run over them when they clash in BaliPure’s last elimination round schedule this Thursday.
But it only means Gorayeb’s charges will now play with less pressure since the team already booked the first automatic semifinal seat this conference.
“‘Yung Linggo talaga exhausted, gabi pa natapos,” said Gorayeb, recalling how they had to endure the end of their back-to-back games on Sunday at the air condition-less PhilSports Arena.
“Makakapagpahinga na kaming mahabahaba kasi sunud sunod ‘yung laro namin,” added the veteran mentor, whose team currently spots a 7-2 card.
Gorayeb said he’s just happy to see his team snare the automatic spot in the Final Four, giving them enough time to recuperate and finetune their plays as they continue their championship bid.
Nonetheless, Gorayeb assured everyone they will treat their game against the Power Smashers with utmost professionalism.
“Laro yan so you should be professional, kaya lang hindi na kami yung magpapakamatay. Ire-reserve muna namin yung energy namin, walang pahinga,” he said.
“Wala na kong gustong makita pa, kasi pagod. Gusto ko ma-mentain yung number 1 pero sabi ko nga sa kanila wala tayong pipiliin kahit sino yung pumasok malakas pa rin eh,” added Goraybe.
