Twitter Recap: Lady Spikers tame Golden Tigresses to clinch the twice-to-beat slot

Back-to-back champions DLSU Lady Spikers easily dispatched the already eliminated UST Golden Tigresses, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22 to grab the first twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four and tighten their grip at the no. 1 spot in the UAAP 80 Women’s Volleyball at the Fil-Oil Flying V Centre, Sunday Afternoon.

Kim Kianna Dy led the way for the Lady Spikers as she chipped in 12 points on 8 attacks and 4 blocks.

Fans who watched the game expressed their different opinions and reactions through Twitter.

In Set 1, Cherry “Sisi” Rondina scored seven points to carry the Golden Tigresses to the lead but the Lady Spikers came back led by Dy who quickly killed the assault of UST aside from their net defense while Desiree Cheng got some couple of service aces.

Then, the bench mob of La Salle came into play as some of their shock troopers helped for the cause of the Lady Spikers such as Cess Tiu and CJ Saga  while continuing their tough net defense led by Dy and Majoy Baron despite Rondina once again carrying the load for UST for the majority of set 2.

Finally, the Lady Spikers clinched the third set by once again playing outstanding defense, neutralizing the attacks from the Golden Tigresses and the bench mob continued to haunt UST as seldom-used May Luna ended the game with her crosscourt hit.
