FEU destroys UE to move closer at no.2 spot

Eager to grab the twice-to-beat advantage, the FEU Lady Tamaraws easily defeated the UE Lady Warriors, 25-17, 25-15 and 25-20, to keep in step at the second seed in the Final Four in the UAAP 80 Women’s Volleyball at Fil Oil Flying V Centre in San Juan City, Wednesday afternoon.

Kyle Negrito was chosen as player of the game with her 5 points and 34 excellent sets, smoothly facilitating the offense for FEU.

On the other hand, Celine Domingo compiled 16 points on 12 attacks and 4 service aces.

The Twitter-verse, as usual, reacted on how the game went down:

Set 1 was a collective effort for FEU led by Domingo, Jeanette Villareal and Bernadeth Pons who immediately led the onslaught of the Lady Tamaraws through their lightining quick attacks.

Domingo continued to assert her presence, this time by delivering four service aces out of five in Set 2 alone for FEU, while Negrito directed the traffic while scoring as well.

UE attempted to make a run in the final stages of Set 3 but the bench of FEU stepped up led by Jerilli Malabanan who connected on an attack off the two blockers of Lady Warriors to close out the set for the Lady Tamaraws.

If FEU wins their last game against the NU Lady Bulldogs and Ateneo Lady Eagles lose to the DLSU Lady Spikers, the Lady Tamaraws will grab the no. 2 seed and the final twice-to-beat advantage slot.
