The Philippine national women’s volleyball team wrapped up the two-week training camp in Okayama, Japan today and is now on their way back to the Philippines.
Coach Shaq delos Santos and his wards are now home-bound after a rather fruitful training under the meticulous eyes of Okayama Seagulls mentor Akiyoshi Kawamoto as part of their preparation for the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.
The team will spend the rest of the day in the country before flying to Jakarta tomorrow just in time for the Asiad which fires off on Saturday.
Not yet. They’re just on their way to Manila from Osaka. They will leave for Jakarta tomorrow, just in time for the opening ceremony on Saturday. https://t.co/CrvLUA6YQ0

Nationals skipper Aby Maraño and the team arrived in Japan on August 5 and immediately went to work the next day sans libero Dawn Macandili, who has to skip the training due to academic commitments.
For 10 days, the Nationals worked with their chemistry and defense as they braced for an all-out war in Pool A with Japan, Thailand, Hongkong, and host Indonesia.
