Alyssa Valdez is second most followed professional volleyball player on Instagram

With her impressive volleyball arsenal, Alyssa Valdez is undoubtedly the most famous volleyball player the Philippines has to date.

Valdez, who originally hailed from San Juan, Batangas, is no stranger to volleyball limelight. When her name rose from the ranks as one of the finest recruit from the high school rank and started playing for the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles in college, her following both on ground and on social media immensely increased.

And her Instagram followers is a testament to this.

As of writing, Valdez currently has 1.2 million+ followers, making her the second most followed professional volleyball player on this platform. She is just lagging behind Iranian setter Saied Marouf, who has 1.7 million+ followers to date.

Completing the top five of the most followed professional volleyball players on Instagram are: Iranian middle blocker Seyed Mousavi and Brazilian setter Bruno Rezende both with over a million followers, and veteran Thai setter Nootsara Tomkom with 842,000+ followers.

Valdez is fresh from her 2018 AVC Cup for Women held in Thailand where she led the team to a ninth place finish out of ten participating countries, scoring a total of 97 points built from 88 attacks, seven aces, and two blocks.

Up next for her is playing with her club team, Creamline, in the Premier Volleyball League.
