PVL: PetroGazz to clash versus Adamson before 3-week break

PVL

The PetroGazz Angels are looking to end their last match of the month on a high note as they battle winless Adamson Lady Falcons tomorrow in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference 2018.

The Angels are shooting to improve their win-loss 3-3 card when they clash with the Lady Falcons, tomorrow at 6 p.m. before their three-week break.

The Paneng Mercado-led squad, who are coming off a five-setter loss against Ateneo-Motolite Lady Eagles, will continue their PVL campaign on November 3.

Jonah Sabete, currently the third best scorer of the tourney, will be at the helm of the charge for PetroGazz as she tallied 65 markers built on 56 kills and nine blocks in six outings, averaging 10.83 hits per game.

Mercado is also expected to lead the way for the Angels as she averages 10.67 tallies per game for a total of 64 markers off 55 kills, six blocks and three aces.

But the Lady Falcons will not be going down without a fight.

The Air Padda-backed squad will try to arrest its four-game losing skid and notch their first win of the conference.

Bern Flora, who averages 9.5 hits per game, will try to steer the Lady Falcons to the winning column.

PetroGazz has more success rate in kills, 26.37 percent to 23.04, and has tallied more blocks, 2.42 per set to 1.60 per set.

The Angels also lead in service, 1.31 aces per set to 0.80 ace per set, and setting, 6.62 sets per set to 4.90 sets per set, but the Lady Falcons have the edge in digging, 15.80 digs per set to 13.85.
