Volleyball superstar Myla Pablo turned heads as she fronted for Blackwater Elite as one of its muses in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) opening yesterday in Bulacan.
Pablo expressed her gratitude to Blackwater Elite for giving her the opportunity to represent the team along with Olympian swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi.
“Thankful nga ako na isa ako sa kinuha ng Blackwater Elite na i-represent ‘yung team nila. Di namin inexpect na makasama namin ‘yung mga ganung muse – si Pia Wurtzbach and si Sharon Cuneta,” Pablo said.

The former Pocari Sweat standout graced the PBA opening yesterday along with fellow Premier Volleyball League (PVL) star Alyssa Valdez, who’s playing for the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Pablo also expressed excitement with her volleyball career as she will be donning a different jersey this year, playing for Motolite in the PVL after being released November last year by the Federated Distributors Inc. and Pocari Sweat.
“Ok naman usapan namin with Motolite–ang sabi lang po, magiging mas competitive ‘yung team for this upcoming PVL,” Pablo said. “I hope na mag-win ‘yung team namin,” Pablo said.
The ace spiker spent three years wreaking havoc for the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors, winning three PVL championships and taking home various individual awards.
Pablo gained attention last year as rumors on which team she would transfer to quickly filled the volleyball world, with the superstar admitting she almost committed to a team in the Philippine Superliga (PSL), but chose to go with Motolite in the PVL.
With a fresh start, Pablo said her team remains focused on building chemistry and working on their system in order to perform well this year.
“Di pa namin [iniisip] ‘yung championship game–practice pa lang for next week kasi may UAAP pa ‘yung ibang teammates namin,” Pablo said.
