Felinski headlines Foton’s back-to-back wins, drops 23 markers

Their bad showing early in the season certainly is not bothering American import Courtney Felinksi as she leads Foton to victory anew – their first back-to-back wins this season.

Fresh from a morale-boosting win against Sta. Lucia last Tuesday, Foton capitalized on that as they trounced Generika-Ayala in four sets today, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-11, in the second round of Philippine Superliga Grand Prix preliminaries, Filoil Flying V Arean.

The American import went to work battle-ready as usual as she exploded for 23 points off 16 attacks, six aces, and a block to tow the Tornadoes to their first back-to-back win this conference.

For Felinski, this win means a lot as it boosts the team’s confidence heading to the quarterfinals.

“It’s really great time to be hitting our stride and these back-to-back wins give us a lot of confidence. People are playing really well. It’s really good to have energy like this,” she said.

The win did not only bolster Foton’s confidence but it also improved their win-loss card to 3-11, which paired them against ranked two team F2 Logistics in the quarterfinals this Saturday.
