BanKo keeps Motolite winless after tough three-setter win

Veteran savvy came into play as BanKo Perlas Spikers eke out a hard-fought three-set win, 26-24, 32-30, 26-24, over the much younger Motolite in the Premiere Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference 2019, Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.

Bouncing back from a loss over the weekend, the Perlas Spikers held their ground down the wire to improve their card to 2-2 while keeping the much younger Power Builders winless.

Kia Bright came through with 20 big points including the game-clinching hit as BanKo rallied behind her throughout the extension.

The Perlas Spikers will shoot for its third win as it tussle with hapless BaliPure team on June 9.

Motolite, who replaced injured Bosnian import Edina Selimovic with lefty opposite Krystle Esdelle, will try to end its slump when it faces a streaking Creamline troop on Saturday.

It was a good start for Motolite in the opening frame as it held a three-point advantage before BanKo made a late set surge to steal the set.

The Perlas Spikers then showed grit and grind in the next two sets as the Power Builders tried to mount a comeback to no avail.
