Just another day in the office.
Petro Gazz’ Cuban reinforcement Wilma Salas produced big numbers in their four-set victory against BanKo Perlas today.
While they dropped a set for the first time in the league, 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20, the Angels were not seen rattling, instead regrouped in the fourth set to end the game.
Salas finished with a double-double performance as she dished 37 big points built from 35 kills and two blocks while adding 13 excellent receptions. This is Salas’ personal best in the league in six games thus far.
Fellow reinforcement in American Janisa Johnson provided the needed support as the open hitter had an all-around game, producing yet another triple-double output. Johnson chipped in 24 points, 16 digs, and 13 excellent receptions for Petro Gazz’ sixth-straight victory.

BanKo surprised Petro Gazz in the third set after a second set meltdown to extend the game in four. The Angels, however, had other plans as they untucked Banko’s defense in the fourth scoring points from all corners to remain unscathed in six games.
Nicole Tiamzon scored 20 points while Dzi Gervacio chipped in 13 points, all in a losing fashion.
Petro Gazz is a win away for a semifinals berth.
