Galanza-Gumabao duo delivers with Valdez in Creamline’s landslide win over Chef’s Classics

In a masterful win over the league newcomers, team captain Alyssa Valdez received plenty of help from a strong cavalry, as her fellow wing spikers also got involved in the action.

The Creamline Cool Smashers posted total mastery over the Chef’s Classics Red Spikers in a straight-set victory, 25-12, 25-5, 25-15, earlier in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center.

It was sheer domination by the Cool Smashers as they took off from all cylinders and established unprecedented point runs, all that while having almost everyone in their team involved in the game.

While Valdez has been delivering consistently for the Cool Smashers, she isn’t alone in the scoring duties.

Wing hitters Jema Galanza and Michele Gumabao delivered anew for Creamline as they tallied 11 and 10 points respectively, supporting Valdez’s 16.

Galanza and Gumabao have been steady contributors for the Cool Smashers as they, along with Valdez, finished as top scorers in their previous wins against the Philippine Air Force Jet Spikers and Motolite.

Valdez praised her teammates for a total team effort in their game earlier, noting that it adds up to the squad’s confidence when everyone steps up.

““I’m really happy that everyone’s spiking, mapa-Jema or Mich, [or] the middle spikers Celine Domingo, Pau, Sato–lahat talaga. Seeing them from the back row, nakakatuwa talaga na masaya lang lahat na nakakapuntos,” the team captain said.

The Cool Smashers look to snatch their fourth straight win as they face the Banko Perlas Spikers on Wednesday.
