Valdez explodes for 26 points as Creamline remains unscathed in four games

It is just another day in the office for the Phenom.

Alyssa Valdez yet again had a stellar performance to lead Creamline’s onslaught versus BanKo Perlas, 25-10, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference today at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

Valdez produced 18 attacks, six aces, and two blocks for a 26-point outing to put the Cool Smashers to fourth-straight victory. She also had 15 excellent digs for a double-double performance.

The Cool Smashers clearly dominated the offensive department as they scored more spikes (54-37) and aces (14-3) while the Perlas Spikers leaned on their defense on the net (9-6).

Three other Creamline spikers scored in double digits as Jema Galanza, Michelle Gumabao, and Risa Sato chipped in 16, 12, and 11 markers, respectively.

For the Perlas Spikers’ side, it was Dzi Gervacio who scored most of the points with 16. Kath Bersola and Nicole Tiamzon had 13 and 10 markers, respectively.

Creamline waxed hot from the very get-go as Galanza, Gumabao, and Valdez teamed up and ganged up on BanKo’s defense, 25-10.

It is a different story in the second set as BanKo woke up just in time to give Creamline a good fight. Dzi Gervacio, Kathy Bersola, and Nicole Tiamzon all had their touches to even the match at 1-1.

Up next for the Cool Smashers are their last season’s nemesis, the PetroGazz Angels, on Sunday.
