Creamline strutted its way to a first-round sweep after making short work of BaliPure in three sets, 25-8, 25-19, 25-14, Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference 2019 at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Riding on a sweet eight-game winning blitz, the Cool Smashers finished the first half of the preliminaries with a perfect record, adding another woe to the Purest Water Defenders’ struggling run.
The defending champions remained on top of the nine-team field as BaliPure absorbed its fifth defeat in seven outings.
Skipper Alyssa Valdez hammered 14 kills and four aces for game-high 18 markers while returning Jia Morado dished out 14 excellent sets after sitting out the last timeout.
Creamline went on a rampage right from the get-go, moving for a 16-5 lead off a 10-0 run before another 6-point run for a 22-7 advantage in the opener.
Much like the first set, BaliPure managed to stay close during the early goings of the second frame before the ladies in pink went for a 22-13 separation.
Still relentless in the third, head coach Tai Bundit had the luxury of fielding his second stringers whilst getting the same results as the Cool Smashers wrapped up the game in dominant fashion.
