Nuval, Air Force spoil Kat Tolentino’s 30-point explosion for back-to-back wins

Choco Mucho’s Kat Tolentino had another stellar game, producing 30 big points against Air Force in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference today at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

Tolentino’s monstrous game, however, got spoiled by a gritty Air Force squad as Abegail Nuval took charge to complete a come-from-behind win for the Jet Spikers, 26-24, 14-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-7.

While she came off the bench, Nuval did not disappoint as she dished out nine total points off seven attacks and two aces – both unleashed during the last two points to give Air Force the victory, 15-7.

Dell Palomata topscored for the Air Force side with 14 attacks and four kill blocks for an 18-point output while Angel Antipuesto and Jozza Cabalsa chipped in 16 and 11 markers, respectively.

Cabalsa only saw limited playing time as she was only tapped in the third set. From then on, she delivered for the Jet Spikers, including four crucial points in the final set.

The victory marks Air Force second-straight win for a 2-5 record. They will close out the first round when they face Pacific Town Army on Saturday.
