Pacific Town Army Lady Troopers scored their fourth win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference after sweeping BaliPure Purest Water Defenders, 25-17, 25-16, 27-25, today at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
The Purest Water Defenders tried to extend the match after scoring a tie in the third set, 25-all, before a service error committed by Carrie Pronuevo.
Army’s Mary Jean Balse ended BaliPure’s resurgence with a down-the-line kill, 27-25, to improve her team’s win-loss record to 4-3 for the fourth spot.
Three Lady Troopers scored in double digits as Royse Tubino had 13 points. Lut Malaluan and Jem Gutierrez chipped in 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Lady Troopers seek to build on this momentum as they end their first round on Saturday against Philippine Air Force.
