Carlos-Molde duo leads Motolite over Balipure to get 9th win, sends Choco Mucho out of F4 race

The tandem of Tots Carlos and Isa Molde delivered anew for Motolite as they overpowered the Balipure Water Defenders in straight sets, 25-16, 25-21, 25-19, earlier in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center.

In an all-important win, Motolite heavily relied on Molde and Carlos as they successfully fended off Balipure who came from a spoiler win against Final Four contender Philippine Air Force.

Carlos finished as the top scorer for Motolite anew with 17 points and a double-double showing, while Molde added 15.

On the other hand, Grace Bombita ended up as the lone double-digit scorer for Balipure with 13 markers.

With the victory, Motolite goes up the team standings with a 9-5 record and is assured of at least a playoff for Final Four, together with the Banko Perlas Spikers and the Petro Gazz Angels who also have nine wins.

Their win also meant that the Choco Mucho Flying Titans are officially out of the semifinal race as they keep a 6-8 slate with only two games left.

With the current team standings, Air Force—who keeps a 5-7 record—needs to win their four remaining games and hope that either Banko, Petro Gazz, or Motolite drops their remaining games in order to force a playoff.

On the other hand, the Pacifictown Army Lady Troopers, who stand on a 6-6 slate, need to win their four remaining games for a chance to sneak into the Final Four.
