The Petro Gazz Angels make their way back to the finals after disposing the Banko Perlas Spikers in four sets, 28-26, 25-17, 25-17, earlier in Game Two of the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference semfinals at the Filoil Flying V Center.
The Angels displayed mastery over the Perlas Spikers anew, repeating their straight-set victory yesterday to enter the championship round on a strong note.
Jovy Prado took over for Petro Gazz with 13 points built on a triple-double game, while fellow wing spikers Jonah Sabete and Paneng Mercado added 11 and 10, respectively.
Meanwhile, the open duo of Nicole Tiamzon and Dzi Gervacio led the losing effort with 15 and 14 markers, respectively.
With the win, Petro Gazz successfully stages back-to-back finals stints in the PVL, this after their championship run in the Reinforced Conference.
Banko, on the other hand, falls short of the title series anew and will go back to another bronze skirmish for the fourth consecutive time in the league.
Petro Gazz will wait for their title rivals with Motolite and the Creamline Cool Smashers battling in Game Two today.
