Myla Pablo took everyone by surprise when she signed her five-year contract in 2016.
Fresh off a championship and an MVP award, Pablo agreed to play for the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors for an undisclosed amount. In this historic move, the Tarlac-native paved way for other volleyball players to have a more secured playing career after college.
FOXSports.ph sat down with the former National University (NU) Lady Bulldog and Pocari team captain to ask her some questions from the fans.
What was the reason why you chose to play for NU? Were there any offers from other schools?
Back in college who was/were the player/s you considered your rival/s? Why?
Myla: Alyssa Valdez, Ara Galang, and Nicole Tiamzon sila kasi yung mga malalakas na open spikers.
If you would be given the chance to turn back time to your collegiate years, what would you change? Why?
Myla: If given a chance, syempre sana nakapagchampion kami sa UAAP.
What is the feeling of being invited to try out for the National Team? Do you think you have a chance of making the team?
If you were coach RDJ, who will be your starting seven for the National Team?
Open: Alyssa Valdez and Dindin Santiago-Manabat
Middle: Jaja Santiago/ Aby Maraño
Liberos: Dawn Macandili / Denden Lazaro
Setters: Jia Morado/ Kim Fajardo
Opposite: Kim Dy / Aiza Maizo
Was there any pressure when you signed your historic contract?
Isa pa I have to live up sa expectations ng team sa akin.

Are you considering going to other teams or crossing over to the other league after your contract expires?
Myla: Hindi ko pa napag-iisipan yan! Let’s just say na pag natapos na yun and feeling ko kaya ko pa maglaro dun na lang ako mag-iisip nang ganyan.
Have other club teams, from both the PSL and PVL, sent you offers to join them?
Myla: Yes, marami mga offers from other teams! Irespect ko yun contract ko muna sa Pocari — they are very supportive of me naman.
What else do you want to achieve in your volleyball career?
Myla: Syempre gusto marami pang championship namakuha sa PVL for Pocari and makapagrepresent sa national team and win the gold medal!
