Pocari-Air Force draws first blood against Creamline

Defending champions Pocari-Sweat-Air Force made quick work of Creamline to move within striking distance in their quest for another final stint of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, 25-23, 25-12, 25-23, Sunday, at the San Juan Arena.

The Lady Warriors came from a morale-boosting quarterfinals performance as they took advantage of Creamline’s long hiatus to draw first blood in the semifinal round.

American Import Arielle Love paced the Warriors’ side, including the match-winning block on Alyssa Valdez. She scored a total of 19 points off 15 attacks, four blocks, and an ace.

Valdez carried most of the scoring load for the Cool Smashers, scoring 16 points. Creamline’s new import Laura Schaudt debut with only a single point.

Game 2 of the semifinal series will be played on Wednesday at the same venue.
