LOOK: Alyssa Valdez is PVL’s Most Valuable Player


Creamline’s Alyssa Valdez emerged as the best player in the Premiere Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference 2018 as she was hailed as the Conference Most Valuable Player.

Valdez displayed all around performance all conference long, displaying on-court leadership to earn her second PVL title.

The 25-year-old Valdez topped three-out-of-seven skill boards after double-round robin preliminaries, headlining the scoring, spiking, and serving department, while also appearing fourth in the digging charts.

Valdez, who was also the 1st Best Outside Spiker, towed the Cool Smashers to a chart-topping 11-3 card before leading them to their second straight Finals appearance as they shoot for their second title.

Also from Creamline are Jema Galanza and Jia Morado, who were awarded as the 2nd Best Outside Spiker and the Best Setter of the conference, respectively.

Meanwhile, Ateneo-Motolite’s Kat Tolentino and Maddie Madayag stood out the best in their positions as they received the Best Opposite and 1st Best Middle Blocker accolades, respectively.

Completing the dream team are Kathy Bersola from the bronze medalist BanKo, who gained the 2nd Best Middle Blocker award, and Cienne Cruz of Petrogazz, who was hailed the Best Libero.
