Petron enters Grand Prix finals for the 7th time after rout of Cignal in the semis

If there is one PSL team who has been consistently entering the finals of the Grand Prix in the last six seasons, it would be the Petron Blaze Spikers.

The Blaze Spikers remained unbeaten in this conference as they zoomed into 17th consecutive victories after routing Cignal in the Game 2 of the semifinals, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21, at the Filoil Flying V Center.

With the victory, Petron is now an inch closer to defending their crown and now awaits who to face between PLDT and F2 Logistics in the championship round.

American import Stephanie Niemer dropped 35 big points in just four sets built from 26 attacks, five aces, and four blocks.

“I am so impressed with Cignal, but I am more impressed with how we responded. We knew that they were going to come out playing well especially after the first matchup against them,” Niemer said.

“But I am so impressed on how we adjusted, we kept it cool. They were digging some shots but we maintained our composure all throughout,” she added.
