Sister act: Ej, Eya Laure renew partnership, join Foton

Expect another sibling act to take Philippine Superliga (PSL) by storm as Ej and Eya Laure are set to power the redemption-bidding Foton Tornadoes.

The Laure sisters are billed to renew their partnership as they joined the Blue Energy for the upcoming PSL All Filipino Conference 2019, which fires off on June 15.

The older Laure will be making her comeback after a two-year layoff while the younger sister is part of the team’s recruitment coup alongside UP’s Justin Dorog and Marianne Buitre and UE’s Lai Bendong.

The development was announced thru the team’s official Facebook page on Friday morning.

This will mark the siblings’ first action together since last teaming up for the UST high school volleyball team.

Ej, who skipped two seasons due to a shoulder injury, is expected to return for the squad she helped reached three podium finishes.

Meanwhile, Eya is looking to test the semi-pro waters following her successful collegiate debut, towing the Espana-based squad back to the finals for the first time in eight years.

With the Laure sisters – both winners of UAAP Rookie of the Year citations – in the fold, Foton’s bid to end a three-year title drought looks bright.

Aaron Velez now has too many offensive options to pull with the Santiago sisters, Maika Ortiz, Mina Aganon, Shaya Adorador, and Jen Reyes.

Rounding up the staunch lineup of the two-time PSL champs are Elaine Kasilag, CJ Rosario, Ivy Perez, Gyselle Sy, Iumi Yongco, and Arianne Layug.
