Following her exit from La Salle, Luna receives well wishes as she focuses on semi-pro career

When a player finishes her fourth year of tenure for the University she is playing for in the UAAP, she is presented with two choices: return next season or forego her final year of eligibility.

It is always a welcome treat whenever players opt the former. Aside from providing veteran experience inside the court, a returning player’s mere presence boosts the team’s roster.

But while most players went on to finish their fifth playing year, some chooses to forego them and focus on their semi-professional careers instead.

One of them is May Luna.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, the 21-year old outside hitter announced her departure from De La Salle University after four years of tenure with the team.

This, after she has been lined up with the Cignal HD Spikers for the ongoing Philippine Superliga (PSL) All Filipino Conference 2019.

“My 4 years as a Lady Spiker have been the most valuable 4 years of my life. Moving forward, I am certain that I will be able to carry all of my learnings to my next journey,” she wrote.

Luna now joined the non-returning set of players next season which includes Des Cheng, Lourdes Clemente, and Julia Ioac, who is also now with Cignal.

She and the HD Spikers are set to open their campaign later against Sta. Lucia.

Following her exit from the team, fans sent their well wishes for the DavaoeΓ±a pride.
