Volleyball players react to Danijela Dzakovic’s hitting incident on libero Jewelle Bermillo

It’s a big no for them.

Volleyball players reacted to BaliPure’s import Danijela Dzakovic’s hitting incident against libero Jewelle Bermillo during their match against Creamline yesterday in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference 2019.

Down by five in the opening frame, 19-24, Dzakovic and Bermillo have had a miscommunication trying to dig an off-the-block spike from Creamline’s Jema Galanza.

Both players shouted “mine”, thus leading to a dig error which cost them the set. Dzakovic then struck Bermillo on the nape, drawing mixed reactions from the people inside the arena and the aficionados thru social media.

BaliPure eventually lost in straight sets, bolting out of title contention.

As per Bermillo, the Montenegrin reinforcement has already apologized to her, saying she was carried away by emotions and frustrations.

But while this was the case, Dzakovic still drew ire from the volleyball community including some players who took to Twitter their reaction on the incident.

Justin Tiu hopes the league and BaliPure will take necessary action on the incident, saying Dzakovic “needs to learn respect”.

Marian Buitre, who plays for Foton Tornadoes, wrote “Kung ako ‘to ‘di ako magdadalawang isip sinasabi ko sa’yo.”

Petron’s Chloe Cortez had the same sentiment as Buitre as she quipped, “Kung ako to suntukan nalang dedma na kung magkaputukan ng labi??? Char.”

Mela Tunay tweeted, “Hala siya teka sumbong ko to kay Khat Bell,” referring to Petron’s hard-hitting import known for her power and humility.

Meanwhile, these are the reactions of PSL’s prized defensive aces in Jheck Dionela of Cignal and Dawn Macandili of F2 Logistics.

Even former Generika Ayala imports Darlene Ramdin and Kseniya Kocyigit have something to say on the matter.
