F2 Logistics is already close to a first-round sweep of the Philippine Superliga (PSL) All Filipino Conference 2019 after chalking back-to-back victories against Cignal and Sta. Lucia during the PSL-On-Tour in Cadiz and Silay City.
The Cargo Movers fought through the HD Spikers’ resistance in the first two sets before asserting dominance in the third for a three-setter win, 25-22, 25-19, 25-14, at the Cadiz City Arena last Tuesday.
It was then followed by another quick straight set demolition last Thursday against the Lady Realtors, 25-15, 25-14, 25-21, at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center.
In both occasions, the reigning silver medalists’ leading scorer Kalei Mau posted double-double outputs, tallying 10 markers and 10 digs against Cignal while registering 14 and 13, respectively, against Sta. Lucia.
Ara Galang also uncorked a combined 23 points while skipper Aby Maraño added 18 for the ladies in yellow.
With this, Ramil de Jesus and his wards, who last swept the first half of the preliminaries in 2016, remained spotless with a league-best 6-0 record.
They are heavily tipped to complete the feat when they battle the hapless Marinerang Pilipina on July 11.
In other news, Generika Ayala zoomed to no. 2 after also sealing two consecutive victories.
The Lifesavers, now at 4-1, outplayed the Lady Realtors for a 25-12, 25-23, 28-26, win before escaping the HD Spikers in a hard-fought five-setter match, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 22-25, 15-12.
Patty Orendain and Angeli Araneta amassed 26 points each to lead Generika.
Meanwhile, Cignal (2-3) and Sta. Lucia (1-5) extended their losing skid to three and five, respectively.
