F2 Logistics swept the first round of the Philippine Superliga (PSL) All Filipino Conference 2019.
The Cargo Movers drowned Marinerang Pilipina in dominant three-sets, 25-7, 25-9, 25-19, wrapping up the first half of the preliminaries still blemish-free on Thursday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
The Ramil de Jesus-backed spikers only needed an hour and three minutes to sink the still hapless Lady Skippers and remain on top of the eight-team field.
It was a strong campaign for the ladies in yellow as they only dropped two sets so far heading into the second-round of the all-local tourney.
Kalei Mau scored 12 points built on 10 kills and a couple of aces for the winning team.
For Mau, their still unchallenged bid was all thanks to their incredible floor defense.
“I think it’s no secret. I think we had some really great defense, probably the best in the league,” said Mau.
Having reliable floor defender, according to Mau, allows the team to run its offense, which is important in their still unchallenged bid.
“Having people that you trust back there in the backrow, it definitely sets up the offense so that you can have balance defense and attack,” the Cargo Movers’ leading scorer added.
F2 Logistics hopes to continue its sensational run in the second round when it faces Sta. Lucia on June 18 as Marinerang Pilipina shoots for its first win against Cignal on June 13.
