PLDT Home Fibr put on a valiant stand and frustrated F2 Logistics in five sets, 25-21, 26-28, 15-25, 25-19, 11-15, in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) All Filipino Conference 2019, Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Playing amid a hot venue, the Power Hitters showed guts down the wire to pull off an upset win against the Cargo Movers and secure their position at no. 6 heading into the quarterfinals with a 6-8 record.
Dropping its second straight assignment following the five-set loss against Petron two days ago, F2 Logistics fell to 11-2 to momentarily sit at no. 2.
It was not the same PLDT squad who was swept by F2 Logistics in their first-round match-up as it drew combined ammunitions from Jerilli Malabanan, Aiko Urdas and Gretchel Soltones, who sealed the game with a game-clinching hit from the left wings.

Forcing an extension and down by two, PLDT made a 4-0 run for a 7-5 advantage before pushing for a 14-10 cushion behind Malabanan’s heroics.
With the game on the line, Kalei Mau scored a point for F2 Logistics on a losing effort as Soltones came through with the game-winner, denying the losing team of a comeback.
Mau did most of the damage for the Cargo Movers, who welcomed Kim Fajardo back to no avail as they lost two of their three five-setter matches this round.
F2 Logistics will try to bounce back against Cignal on Tuesday.
