Cignal HD Spikers kept Marinerang Pilipina at bay for good, 25-14, 25-14, 22-25, 25-18, to keep their immaculate record intact in the Philippine Superliga Invitational 2019 held at the Bacoor STRIKE Gym in Cavite.
Now 4-0 in the standings, the HD Spikers leaned on the superb showing of their setter Alohi Robins Hardy, who stepped up big time today and delivered a triple-double performance.
The national team setter produced 11 points from eight attacks, two blocks, and an ace. Apart from this offensive arsenal, Robins-Hardy orchestrated Cignal’s offense with 11 excellent sets as she also defended the floor well with 12 digs.

In a postgame interview, the setter said the presence of her mom added to her impressive performance.
“I’ve been, I guess [her presence contributed to my good game]. She has part of it. I love having her here. This is actually her first day so I’m excited to have her. We actually have three games this week so it’s going to be perfect,” the setter said.
The HD Spikers capitalized on the Lady Skippers’ 30 errors as they built enough momentum from their 45 attacks. Cignal also led Marinera in both blocks (11-3) and ace (11-3).
Robins-Hardy and the rest of the Cignal squad will put their pristine record on the line when they face PLDT on Thursday.
