In the last conference, it was Cignal which eliminated Petron in the gold medal match as the HD Spikers got the better of the Blaze Spikers in their semis match-up.
Just today, Petron avenged that loss in an epic five-set, 25-11, 20-25, 25-22, 25-27, 16-14, in the Philippine Superliga Invitational 2019 held at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
At the helm of this victory is no less than Sisi Rondina.
The talented open hitter yet again exploded at the right time as she dished 33 points from 29 attacks and four aces, including the game-winning serve which the HD Spikers failed to contain.
With six match points in the four set, 24-18, Petron squandered this lead which forced a decider in favor of Cignal.
The Blaze Spikers, though, woke up just in time as they stopped the runs of Cignal in the fifth set behind Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Rondina’s scoring.

Heading into this game, Rondina mentioned that they want to avenge their painful loss against Cignal last conference. And rightly so.
For Rondina, her mind set was to do her role in the team.
“Coming into this game, kailangan nating tanggalin ‘yung sumpa na ‘yun. Ang ginawa lang namin ay hindi kami tumigil. Habang ‘yung bola ay buhay pa, hindi dapat kami tumigil,” she said.
“I’m just giving my best in every game lalo na sa training. I always treat my training as my real game and every game as championship,” she added.
For their last game, Petron will face PLDT tomorrow at the Filoil Flying V Center.
