If offense wins rallies, defense certainly wins games.
This is what Cignal showed as they put up excellent blocking against Foton, 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 to clinch the bronze in the PSL Invitational Cup held at the Ynares Gym in Pasig City.
In three sets, the HD Spikers foiled the Tornadoes in front of the net, scoring 11 kill blocks to frustrate the attackers of the opponent.
Cignal likewise led the game in offense as they produced 42 attacks compared to Foton’s measly 30.

Skipper Rachel Ann Daquis is nothing short of praise to all her teammates, saying the bronze medal will not be possible without the help of each members of the team.
“Super proud [ako sa kanila]. I want to compliment and salute all my teammates kasi lahat kami nagtrabaho for this,” Daquis said.
“For me, very easy [silang i-handle] kasi sinusurrender nila ang sarili nila. We respect each other. Walang inggitan at walang sapawan. We all treat each other as sisters,” she added.
Foton had to fight sans one of their middle blockers, CJ Rosario, who fell badly in the third set. This changed the momentum of the game as all players from both teams looked concerned.
