As the 2020 season of the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) looms large, the player movements continue.
This time, it was Cignal’s turn to struck a move as it acquired the services of outside hitter Fiola Ceballos for the 2020 season.
In a Facebook post on Monday afternoon, the HD Spikers officially announced Ceballos’ arrival to camp ahead of the forthcoming Grand Prix Conference, which starts next month.
Ceballos is expected to provide firepower for the Edgar Barroga squad, which is coming off a rather fruitful 2019 campaign.
The former Generika Ayala hitter is also a welcome addition to Cignal following the departure of Mylene Paat and Janine Navarro as reported by the Daily Tribune last week.
A versatile player, Ceballos is a product of Central Philippine University, the same school that produced national team campaigner Jovelyn Gonzaga.
A dependable hitter with good floor defense, the Ilo-Ilo native began to gain traction when she joined the Lifesavers in 2017.
Since, the 5-foot-7 spiker has been a cog in Generika’s campaign, helping the team achieved a bronze medal finish in the 2018 PSL All Filipino Conference.
