Galang hopes breakthrough win can turn F2 Logistics’ fortunes around

After finally entering the win column, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers’ Ara Galang admitted that the team still has a long way to go.

In their 0-2 slump, the Cargo Movers couldn’t even win a set in their first two matches against the Foton Tornadoes and Petron. Galang and the rest of the Cargo Movers’ core have been treading an unfamiliar territory as they are known to be part of a team with a winning tradition in La Salle.

The Cargo Movers were left shorthanded in their first two games with Sydney Kemper as the only available import at that time. But against the Cignal HD Spikers, the Cargo Movers were finally completed as Hayley Spelman arrived just in time for their first win.

“Okay naman. Siyempre malaking bagay na may dumagdag samin. Pero kailangan ma-work pa namin na maging one kami as a team, kailangan ma-work pa namin yung communication sa loob ng court,” Galang admitted after their 5 – set win against the HD Spikers.

Big addition was an understatement as Spelman left everyone spellbound with 30 huge points to power the Cargo Movers. But despite that outstanding debut, F2 Logistics had to survive a gallant stand from the vastly-improved Cignal side.

“Of course malaking bagay na nanalo kami. One step na yun sa goal namin. Pero kailangan pa namin mag-push harder and magtrabaho pa kami,” Galang added.

Their first win in three starts though left them wanting for more.

“Masaya kasi nanalo. Siyempre masaya pero for me personally, hindi ako masiyadong satisfied sa laro ng team. Ako din, yung laro ko individually. Pero kasi siyempre parang kaka-start palang ulit. Kakabalik lang and masyado pa kaming maraming ia-adjust sa loob ng team,” she told FOX Sports.

One thing that the Cargo Movers would want to focus is building team chemistry especially with the late arrival of Spelman.

“Siguro hindi pa kami ganun ka-jell. Di pa naming masyadong kilala yung isa’t-isa. Siguro andun pa kami sa step na naga-adjust kami lahat.”

But the big win is a step in the right direction for the Cargo Movers who are eyeing not only to improve their one-win total in last year’s Grand Prix but vie for the title more than anything else.

“Hindi naman namin hahayaan na mag-stay lang kami dun sa kung anong naabot namin. Kailangan siyempre taasan pa namin yung goal namin. Dapat di kami maging complacent or satisfied dun lang,” Galang said. – By Joyce Palad
