F2 Logistics Cargo Movers picked up where they left off and smothered the life out of Generika Lifesavers to remain unblemished in the 2018 Philippine Superliga Invitationals Cup on Thursday afternoon at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Coming off a fourth place finish in a Thailand-based tourney, the Cargo Movers announced their return to the local action as they swept Generika, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20, to take the top seat in Pool A.
Everyone from the well-rounded F2 side contributed to give Generika, who lost their libero Kath Arado to an injury in the second set, its first loss in three outings.
After a close start, the Cargo Movers stepped on the gas to bury the Lifesavers in a 17-11 and 24-18 hole.
Riri Meneses of Generika fired back-to-back kills in a late attempt to steal the lead before Aby Maraño sealed the set for F2 with an off-the-block hit, 25-20.
F2’s second stingers were in total control of the second set as they surged to 16-7 for a game-high nine-point blitz.
Generika’s primary hitters came back in to no avail as they handed the set to the Cargo Movers after two costly errors towards the end of the set, 25-16.
The Cargo Movers made a living from their net defense as they tallied seven blocks for a 23-17 edge in the third set.
