Another blow for Foton: Layug goes down with a knee injury

As if the absence of the Santiago sisters has already made things difficult for Foton’s offense, here goes another unneeded blow.

The Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy might find themselves struggling to keep a perfect slate in the 2018 PSL All Filipino Conference as starter Arianne Layug went down with a knee injury in their game against the Smart Giga Hitters.

While the Tornadoes emerged victorious over the Giga Hitters in straight sets, they suffer yet another setback in their scoring arsenal with Layug possibly missing action in the next few games.

The open spiker was taken out midway in the opening set as she was seen holding her knee in pain after a bad landing.

The former Lady Spiker has proven to be a breakthrough player for Foton after being promoted as a starter along with Dindin and Jaja Santiago, who are currently playing in the Japanese V.League.

Layug is reported to undergo an MRI to better assess the injury.
