F2 Logistics ends Cocolife, takes last semis slot

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers are once again back on familiar territory as they book the last semifinals slot with a victory over the Cocolife Asset Managers in straight sets, 25-12, 25-22, 25-20, earlier in the 2018 PSL All Filipino Conference at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Cargo Movers displayed mastery over the Asset Managers as they took the opening set in dominant fashion and showed composure in the succeeding sets to take the win and advance into the semifinals.

F2 Logistics started strong in the first set with their smooth offense made possible by Kim Fajardo’s distribution to lead early on and eventually take the set.

While the Asset Managers fought hard and kept the score close in the succeeding sets, the Cargo Movers’ offensive and defensive arsenal proved too high of a mountain for Cocolife to climb, as they eventually surrendered the game to the more composed F2 Logistics team.

National team member Majoy Baron, who led the Cargo Movers with 13 points, commended her team — particularly Fajardo’s setting — for their dominant win today.

“Naging effective yung mga fast sets na ginawa ni Ate Kim and yung mga attacks namin,” Baron said. “Siyempre do or die na yung game ngayon so kailangan na naming ibigay yung best namin.”

With the win, the Cargo Movers are one step closer in achieving their second championship in the league’s sixth season, the first being the 2018 PSL Invitational Cup they won last July.

F2 Logistics goes to the semifinals with a twice-to-beat advantage and looks to defeat the third seed Generika-Ayala Lifesavers who staged an upset win over them in the first round.
