Girl on fire: Dawn Macandili keeps F2 Logistics alive in Game 2

Defensive ace Dawn Macandili was on top of her game when the F2 Logistics forged a series extension yesterday.

Following a dismal performance the last timeout, Macandili powered the Cargo Movers from the floor as they stretched the series to a Game 3 after an empathic four-set Game 2 victory against Petron.

Much like everyone else from her squad, the national team campaigner had a rusty start in the first frame before finding her form in the next three as F2 Logistics bounced back from a sorry three-set demolition in the series opener.

Macandili waxed hot on the floor, popping balls right and left and sacrificing her body for every point and allowing her squad to generate their offensive machine.

The former PSL-AFC Most Valuable Player finished with a whooping 33 excellent digs out of 50 tries for a 66 percent efficiency, tallying one-fourth of the Cargo Movers’ total 123 digs.

She also led F2 Logistics in reception with game-high 16-out-of-19 excellent receives off a 84.21 percent efficiency. This comes after a meager 13-point output in Game One.

It was arguably her best outing of the conference and her most impressive to date in all the F2 Logistics’ assignments against Petron.

With Macandili on point, four spikers from the Cargo Movers finished the game in double-digits with Ara Galang, Majoy Baron, Cha Cruz-Behag, and Mich Morente tallying 20, 14, 13 and 10, respectively.

Not only did she set the floor on fire, Macandili was also the talk of the town on Twitter as she delivered yet another buwis buhay performance.
