Stephanie Niemer, Erica Wilson land in PH as PSL Grand Prix nears

Foreign reinforcements are starting to fly in one by one as the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix inches closer to its much-anticipated opening.

Stephanie Niemer of Petron and Erica Wilson of Cignal have arrived in the country yesterday as their respective teams brace for the import-laden conference.

Niemer and Wilson were the fourth and fifth imports to arrive here following Foton’s Selime Ilyasoglu and Courtney Felinski and F2 Logistics’ Rebecca Perry.

This marks Niemer second tour of duty in the country as she came into the scene three years ago for the PSL F2 Logistics Manila in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship and for Petron in the 2016 Grand Prix

The 30-year old Niemer will be suiting up anew for the reigning champions Blaze Spikers with Aiza Maizo and Ces Molina, the only two players left from the 2016 line-up.

Meanwhile, it will be Wilson’s first time playing in the league.

The outside hitter-middle blocker Wilson is tipped to power Cignal, who has Rachel Ann Daquis, Mylene Paat and Jheck Dionela.

Niemer and Wilson are expected to start training with their respective squads soon.
