The United Volleyball Club are looking to win at any cost as they tapped a US NCAA gem for the upcoming Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix 2019.
The newly-minted UVC continues its bid for redemption with the acquisition of former Texas Longhorn standout Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani for the import-laden conference.
The 22-year-old wing spiker out of Los Angeles, California is already in the country and has already been training with the team.
The 6-foot-4 spiker will provide the defensive cudgels while skipper Kalei Mau carry the scoring load for the squad, which finished fourth in the last two installments of Grand Prix.
With Bedart-Ghani in the fold, UVC, who changed its name from Cocolife Asset Managers, looks to be a strong title contender following its off-season recruitment coup.
UVC recently acquired Bang Pineda from Generika Ayala and Amy Ahomiro from BanKo while bringing in Fil-Hawaiian setter Alohi Robins-Hardy as it guns for its first podium finish.
Bedart-Ghani and UVC takes on Foton on February 16, 4 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.
