Fans of the University of the Philippines (UP) women’s volleyball team can now breathe a sigh of relief as veterans Tots Carlos, Isa Molde and Justin Dorog are billed to suit up for the Lady Maroons for one last time.
Carlos, Molde, and Dorog, who all arrived in UP’s fold in Season 78, are expected to use their final playing years when the much-awaited UAAP Season 82 women’s volleyball tournament fires off next month.
This puts an end to the months-long uncertainty on whether the three senior spikers will don the maroon-and-white jersey anew after Carlos and Molde were reported to be foregoing their last year of eligibility.
The triumvirate will try to lead the Diliman-based squad back to Final Four following its three consecutive misses.
It’s almost show time! Guess who’s back again? 😉

Also tipped to make her return is setter Rem Cailing, who did not play in last season when UP finished fifth for the second time in three years.
Cailing will be filling the void left by the already graduated do-it-all setter-spiker Ayel Estranero.
Out to provide help are Marist Layug and Jessma Ramos, who both spent the offseason with Motolite in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
As part of its build-up, core players spent the UAAP break playing for various clubs.
Carlos, Molde, Layug, Ramos and Aie Gannaban played for Motolite as Cailing joined BanKo Perlas.
Dorog, meanwhile, suited up for Foton Tornadoes in the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL)
The Lady Maroons last won the UAAP championship in Season 45.
