UE should be smarter to break losing streak, says Adorador

Winning a single set won’t win a match, and for UE’s Shaya Adorador, they still need to upgrade their volleyball IQ to break into the winning column.

After offensively clicking in the 3rd, the Lady Warriors failed to bring the same intensity come the 4th set as they succumbed to FEU in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

“Nakulangan lang sa diskarte tsaka yung blockings nga nawawalan kami tsaka yung iba naging kampante, nawawala na sa focus,” Adorador told FOX Sports.

The 5-foot-7 outside hitter impressively put up good numbers for the Recto spikers with 23 points off 21 kills but did not get enough scoring from her teammates.

“Di kami nagsasabay sabay, di kami lahat good game, kung maganda yung palo ko, mawawala naman si ganito,” she said.

Judith Abil scattered 9 points while Roselle Baliton finished with 6 points for UE, which lost its 47th straight game.

After pulling off an inspired set win, Adorador knew that there are more things to be desired from them to end UE’s losing streak.

“Dapat yun pa yung naging motivation namin. Nakakatuwa sobra at tsaka sobrang nakaka-touch kasi nag-enjoy kami na yun naman dapat talaga,” she said.

The Lady Warriors struggled controlling their rhythm, committing 37 unforced errors and registering a single block only the entire game.

“Diskarte rin, ishashare na lang ni Coach (Francis) kung anong dapat pag-aralan tsaka irereview namin lahat,” said Adorador, as they will try to upset NU next game. — By Jason Mercene
