FEU Lady Tamaraws stomp NU Lady Bulldogs to inch closer at twice-to-beat

Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws secured an important victory against National University Lady Bulldogs, 25-21, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-20 to keep at striking distance of second spot in the upcoming Final Four of UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Skipper Bernadeth Pons provided the needed spark for the team as she scored double-double with 17 points and 16 excellent receives.

Fans shared their reactions about the game through Twitter

In Set 1, the Lady Tamaraws immediately set the tempo. Thanks to the series of blocks from leading league blocker Celine Domingo, Chin Chin Basas service aces and Jerilli Malabanan’s impact off the bench.

While Jaja set the pace for the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points, the effort deemed futile as they succumbed to FEU’s excellent service.

Domingo once again acted like a brick wall for the Lady Tamaraws as she went block after block while delivering poweful kills to neutralize the maneuver of the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs didn’t go down without a fight as Santiago, Risa Sato and Aiko Urdas made an onslaught with Jasmine Nabor directing the traffic to deliver the goods and to keep NU at bay.

Finally, the Lady Tamaraws broke away as Heather Guino-o was instrumental for their attack as well as Czarina Carandang to further help Pons and Basas close the set for FEU.
