Still fresh from winning their third three-peat in UAAP, coach Ramil de Jesus and his squad are already bent on looking for replacements for the troika of Dawn Macandili, Majoy Baron and Kim Dy who have already served their playing years.
Replacing the trio will be a tough act to follow. The three had become La Salle’s cornerstone — both in offense and defense for the past three years.
Dy, season 78 Finals MVP, was the top scorer of the Taft-based squad the past seasons and was considered as one of the best opposite spikers of her time.
The 11-time champions also lost a middle blocker and team captain in Baron, season 79’s Most Valuable Player.
But the biggest hole needs to be filled comes from the team’s libero as Macandili left a huge void in this crucial position.
Even though we fully expected Dawn Macandili to go all-out in her final season for the DLSU Lady Spikers, many of her plays still dazzled us and left us wondering how she saved the ball.

Holdovers from the starting lineup Des Cheng, season 79 Finals MVP, Tin Tiamzon, Aduke Ogunsanya and Michelle Cobb, are tipped to lead DLSU on its 12th title bid.
Arianne Layug, CJ Saga, Norielle Ipac, Gyra Barroga, and Rovena Instrella will be in for another tour of duty while Atenean-turned-La Sallian opposite hitter Michelle Morente will make her debut for the Lady Spikers next season.
