National team libero Dawn Macandili is known for her uncanny floor defense, whether through well-timed pancakes or mid-air saves.
In fact, she has been making history since 2016 — from being the first MVP libero in the country, to being the first Filipino to win best libero in an Asian-wide tourney, and to being the first Finals MVP in the UAAP.
Today, though, she will defending something else. Today, she won’t be graded by statisticians but by her professors.
The F2 Logistics defensive ace Macandili is set to defend her undergraduate thesis in BS Psychology at De La Salle University today.
The 22-year old libero Macandili missed the PSL On Tour in Ilagan City last weekend to prepare for her study presentation.
Prior to this, Macandili also skipped the two-week training camp of the national team in Japan to complete her final term in DLSU until August 22.
She had to rush back to finish her school commitment. In fact, Dawn will have her thesis defense today. Let’s pray for her success 🙂

As of posting time, there is no news whether Macandili could join the camp which is slated until August 16 as she still has school requirements to meet.
And like all the balls that she has saved, Macandili will surely ace her defense.
Good luck, Dawn!
