Jasmine Nabor still not returning to NU despite Babes Castillo’s departure

Six months after reports of her doubtful return surfaced and barely a month before the UAAP Season 81 opens, Jasmine Nabor revealed that she still won’t be returning to National University this season.

This was confirmed by Nabor herself via a tweet as response to a question whether she’ll be suiting up for the Lady Bulldogs this season.

“Hindi pa din po,” the lefty setter revealed as response to whether she will be returning for NU now that its former coach Babes Castillo has been replaced.

Late June, Castillo admitted that Nabor and Jorelle Singh’s return to NU women’s volleyball team is “doubtful” as they haven’t showed up in training.

A day later, though, Nabor broke her silence and clarified that the decision to leave Lady Bulldogs was because they’ve been cut from the rosterβ€”a development they learned from their teammates.

Castillo was coaching BaliPure while Nabor and Singh were playing for PayMaya that time during the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference 2018.

Further asked if she has plans on playing or transferring to San Sebastian College, which coach Roger Gorayeb coaches, Nabor said that she has not given it a thought.

“Hindi po,” she said.

With Nabor out, the Lady Bulldogs are expected to have a tough season ahead with the departure of its long-time scoring machine Jaja Santiago, together with veterans Aiko Urdas and Singh.

Holdovers Risa Sato, Roselyn Doria, Audrey Paran and Roma Joy Doromal are billed to lead NU’s bid in the UAAP.
