The University of the Philippines Pep Squad and the University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe are the winningest teams in the UAAP Cheerdance competition with eight titles apiece.
But make no mistake as the National University Pep Squad is slowly creeping back from oblivion as the team from Jhocson won their sixth title in seven years after besting the 2019 UAAP Cheerdance Competition today at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The NU Pep Squad was gunning for a rare five-peat title in the 2017 edition, but their celebration was halted as Adamson University dethroned them with its generic techno hip-hop beats of the 70s.
In the next year competition, though, the trophy went back to Jhocson with NU’s Mexican Day of the Dead-themed performance.
The team from Jhocson made sure that the title will remain in their territory this year with their near-perfect #MabuhayPilipinas routine scoring a total of 722 points.
Coming in second and third places are FEU Cheering Squad and Adamson Pep Squad that received 706 points and 658.5 points, respectively.
Rounding up the competition are the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, UE Pep Squad, UP Pep Squad, Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion, and DLSU Animo Squad.
The NU Pep Squad likewise dominated the group stunts category. FEU Cheering Squad and Adamson Pep Squad, meanwhile, are second and third placers, respectively.

There are different judges in each skillsets: tumbling, stunts, tosses, pyramids, and dance.
Meanwhile, NU Pep Squad also dominated the special awards, winning the best stunts, best toss, and pyramid.
