It’s been proven on multiple occasions on Raw and pay per views that Ronda Rousey is one bad gal. The WWE Champion is not one to mess with. Alexa Bliss knows this well as she’s been on the receiving end of Rousey’s hurt multiple times.
What can do the contender do to change things up at Hell in a Cell? FOX Sports Philippines explores some tips and strategies Alexa Bliss can employ so she can have a chance at solving the problem of Ronda Rousey.
Protect the Arm
The WWE Women’s champion has a lot weapons to use during a wrestling match. The most devastating among these is her finishing armbar. She won her title against Bliss using this move. Come Hell in a Cell, it would be wise for Alexa to keep her arms close to herself lest she wants them to be broken again. It may be difficult for her to execute moves with her arms figuratively tied behind her, but it still ups her chances at getting a win against Rousey.
WWE isn’t like boxing or MMA fight wherein one scores points for being a fighter and initiating. Alexa Bliss can capitalize on this by simply running around and tiring the champion. With this, she can bank on her little stature and annoying personality. Bliss can run around until Ronda gets annoyed and lowers her guard. This is exactly the type of opening Alexa would need to defeat Rousey.
Climb the Ropes
Alexa Bliss also has to be mindful of Ronda’s throws and ground skills. To counter this, the challenger can remove the floor from the equation by flying around. She shouldn’t be afraid to climb the ropes and do devastating dives. She can even fly and dive to the outside of the ring if she dares just so she can try and land offensive moves.
Backstage Sneak Attack
If Bliss can’t defeat Ronda at 100%, a backstage attack on the champion might solve this. Alexa has to figure out a way to begin hurting the champion even before the match begins. Her partners Alicia Fox and Mickey James can help her with the deed. Together, they will be instrumental in executing this especially if there will be help around such as Natalya or either of the Bella twins.
If all else fails, Bliss should bring in a weapon or reinforcements to deliver all the hurt to the champion. However, Bliss getting disqualified gives her a loss and won’t put the title around her. Employing this strategy revolves around the idea of immediate loss for long term gains. Hurting and humiliating Rousey now may damage the champion’s ego and confidence making her beatable in succeeding meetings. It’s a tough sacrifice, but it’s a path to reclaim the championship.
